Patient Access is a key function in revenue cycle operations and are usually the patient’s first exposure to the facility. The patient access professionals are key to an efficient front end and has a direct impact on patient identification, patient safety, employee engagement and retention, clean claims, Medical Records, reduced wait times and increased patient satisfaction. This course will detail the processes, laws and regulations for scheduling, insurance verification, pre-authorizations, medical necessity, registrations, financial counseling, financial clearance and point of service collections. It is crucial that healthcare providers understand the importance of insurance verification and authorized services to maximize reimbursement. Patient Access has this front-end responsibility.
